Scammers usually send out their scam attempts to a large number of people and hope that they can find a few victims.

While we don’t know where they get the phone numbers and email addresses from, this also means that you probably aren’t being targeted personally, and are just one entry on a long list of potential victims.

That’s why you should never reply to communications that you know are scams. The scammers may eventually take you off their list if you don’t respond to their attempts.
